Remote Lessons

Week of March 16th-20th
Math (90 minutes)
I can use a ruler to measure various objects.
*  Work in your Math Module workbook. Complete Lessons 1 - 4.
 
*  Spend 30 minutes on IXL Math. Color in the IXLs you complete each day.
 
*Problem Solving - You will complete one problem each day.  I will also place the problems on Google Classroom.
Monday -  Cole has 2 quarters, 5 dimes, six nickels, and 1 penny.  Jack has 4 quarters, 1 dime, 2 nickels, and 9 pennies. If they put their money together do they have enough money to buy a soccer ball for our class that cost $3.50?
Tuesday -
Wednesday - A farmer planted five different types of tomatoes.  He planted forty of each type. How many tomatoes did the farmer plant?
Thursday -  There are 823 people attending the Dash baseball game after 37 people left. How many people were at the game before the people left?
Friday - Jordi and his friends collect 72 rocks.  Each person collected 9 rocks. How many people collect rocks?
 
 
Reading (90 minutes)
20 minutes - Read Raz-Kids/Book of your choice.  Record the title on the sheet you were given.
30 minutes - IXL Language Arts
30 minutes - Log into Google Classroom - Complete Newsela story each day.  Complete the activity prompt and quiz to go with the article.

Science (20 minutes)
I am so excited we are beginning our weather unit!  You will complete some videos and reading passages on Discovery Education.  Have fun learning about weather.
Students will be able to identify weather instruments in order to measure weather.
 
Log into Google Classroom.  Click on Discovery Education Weather.
 
Writing (20 minutes)
Week 1:  Pick a type of weather that is interesting to you!
(tornados, hurricanes, blizzards, lightening)  You will use NC Wise Owl or other resources to research your weather topic.   Take notes on your weather topic.
Week 2: You will use your notes to make a book about your weather topic.  I will model how to create your book on Google Classroom!
