Davidson County Schools’ 2022-2023 free and reduced meal application process has begun!
Please visit lunchapplication.com and in a few simple steps complete and submit your free and reduced application. Submitting applications online is the most efficient and accurate way to submit applications!
If you would rather have a paper application, you can download a copy of the application on the DCS School Nutrition webpage - here. Paper applications are being mailed to each DCS household and should arrive the week of August 8th, 2022. Additional paper applications will be available at each school once the school year begins. Instructions for completing free and reduced meal applications can be found on the DCS School Nutrition webpage - here. Paper applications may be submitted to any DCS school or mailed to the district office.
Once your application has been processed, a result letter will be mailed to your home, arriving within 10 days after successful submission.
If your child receives food stamps or TANF, they are eligible for free meals through direct certification and, for the first time this year, Medicaid recipients may also be eligible for free or reduced meal benefits. If you do not receive a letter of direct certification, please complete an application.
A foster child or a child living in a group home is eligible for free meals regardless of household income but an application must be submitted.
Being approved for free or reduced meals does not waive any school fee for programs outside of the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. Likewise, fee waiver from your student’s school does not qualify your student for free school meals.
