Mrs. Smith is the Media Coordinator at Wallburg, and considers this job to be her DREAM JOB! Mrs. Smith attended Wallburg Elementary School as a child, and so did her husband, Dylan! She has been the Media Coordinator here for four years, and loves every second of it.
Mrs. Smith graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (K-6). She immediately enrolled in The Graduate School at UNCG the following semester in order to earn her Masters of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) degree. She graduated with her MLIS degree in December 2016! During graduate school, Mrs. Smith served as a certified substitute teacher at Wallburg and Friendship Elementary, often serving as a long-term substitute in both the Media Center and the classroom. Throughout this time she also filled two maternity leaves.
Mrs. Smith worked as a school library intern at Wallburg during both the Fall 2014 and Fall 2016 semesters, and she absolutely loved her experience! She loves working with the Wallburg faculty and staff. It is an amazing community to be a part of, and she is so grateful that she gets to work at a school that means so much to her and her family.
