SHARK Folders/Communication

So far, students have done a very good job with knowing how to use their SHARK folder and knowing which of the items passed out are for "keep at home" and what papers or forms are  "return to school." These blue folders are sturdy and expensive so if possible, please try very hard NOT to lose it. A fee of $3 (per our fees from the Treasurer) is needed to replace the blue folder if lost. That folder will be referred to as your child's S.H.A.R.K. folder!! I will have printed in color a front AND back cover that explains the usage of this "SHARK" folder!!! Be sure to read the front and back covers!!!!  This blue folder will go home and come back to school EACH AND EVERY day. The folder will go home on Fridays and will be expected to be returned on Mondays.  Papers/forms on the "keep at home" side should be reviewed and kept at home. I suggest finding a spot/folder/place at home to keep these items to refer back to. I keep extras of these items sent home in the event someone misses or loses something! No worries! The papers/forms on the "return to school" side need to be reviewed/filled out/signed and returned to school as soon as possible. **IF your child spends time between parents at different homes and you need 2 copies of ALL pages sent home in this folder, just let me know so ALL parents and caregivers can be informed and up to date on all things third grade!!!!

Your child will ALSO be bringing home an AGENDA. I use the same one that students have on a DAILY basis and will write in my agenda and project it for students to see so they can copy/write the exact same things inside of their own agenda. PLEASE READ IT DAILY. Students will learn the art of "planning" and following a schedule as well as staying organized!! YAY!!! I need this so much and it helps children plan ahead and "look" ahead so they know what to expect (when do we have: a quiz? a test? a Spirit Day? a field trip? a day off? a holiday? etc.). It IS a good thing and if lost, the office charges a $5 fee to replace the agenda. I usually encourage students to place the blue folder INSIDE of the agenda since BOTH are used on a DAILY BASIS.
